• Multiple Job Codes may be set up for each employee.
• When the employee clocks in, they will be able to select which job they are working during that shift.
• Employees may only select to work job codes assigned to them. For example, if Bob only has job codes CASHIER and JANITOR assigned to him, he may not log in as a COOK.
• A shift report can be printed at the end of each shift. The printout displays necessary information such as the total amount of sales, breakdown by payment method, cash transaction details and an over or short amount.

Gift Cards

With Gift Cards, a customer can pre-pay for future purchases for themselves or use them as a present for someone else. Simply sell a gift card to a customer for any amount desired by the customer and swipe the card into the system. Now that card is on file. When the customer wants to pay using the Gift Card, all you need to do is swipe it at the end of the transaction and choose how much of their balance you want to apply to the invoice. It's as simple as that. Most importantly, the customer will want to come to your store to buy if they have a Gift Card from your store.

Inventory control is one of the main ingredients to a point of sale system (POS). As a business owner, you know how important it is to keep on top of your inventory levels. Cash Register Express POS software has been designed to make inventory control a snap. You may add an item that has a bar code and track its cost, price, in stock level, which department it belongs to, which vendor it comes from as well as many other features like discount levels, size and color matrices, sale and special pricing and many more features.

Cash Register Express Point of Sale give you the flexibility you need when it comes to setting up special prices for items. Four major features include bulk pricing, sale pricing, time based pricing and global special pricing. With bulk pricing, you can give a special price for a certain quantity of items (for example, 2 for $3.00). Sale pricing allows you to specify a percentage off the item during a certain date range. Time based pricing allows you to choose certain days and the times within that day where a sale will kick in. This is especially effective for a bar where you may have a happy hour. Lastly, Global Special Pricing allows you to add a sale to an entire department or a many items at one time. Also, it allows for a date range for the sale to kick in.

Reporting is the most important feature of a good point of sale system. The most useful reports to any business have have been programmed into Cash Register Express. As a business owner, it is important to be on top of your sales figures, costs and inventory levels. With lots of reports and its ease of use, Cash Register Express has become the system of choice of tens of thousands of business owners.

The Cash Register Express reporting screen has been designed with ease-of-use in mind. You can choose the type of reports by the click of a button, choose the date and time range you would like data for and further narrow your report by adding criteria. When you select a report, a small description of what will be displayed will appear on the reporting screen as well. Select to view a report by store id (with the Host Module), cashier id, customer, vendor, department or item.

Using Cash Register Express' Host Module for a multi-store scenario, you will be able to see these reports for each individual store as well as the entire operation.

Credit Cards

Fast customer checkout has become a reality.

Any business owner knows that long lines at the checkout counter are undesirable. When it comes to credit card processing, a customer normally waits between 20 and 30 seconds just to have their card processed. When you're in a rush, this seems like a long time. Now, Cash Register Express Point of Sale (POS) works with PC Charge Payment Server (available here) or CoCard Merchant Gateway internet based credit card processing. What used to take 20 to 30 seconds to process (via modem) now takes between 3 to 5 seconds with a high-speed connection.

These days, more and more businesses are outfitting their locations with high-speed internet access like DSL or Cable Modem. If you have this high speed internet service, then you can have the speed of internet credit card processing and check out your customers at least 50% faster.

PC Charge can be used for stand-alone credit card processing or will interface with Cash Register Express. When using it with Cash Register Express POS, these programs will run in the background. When Cash Register Express does a credit card transaction, it passes the information along to PC Charge to process the credit card. Then PC Charge will give Cash Register Express back the answer from the credit card processor. This whole operation works seamlessly and in the background within 3 to 5 seconds when using it over the internet.

Credit Cards can also be taken over standard dial-up connection.
