CAP Retail has age verification features built in, helping you and your cashiers to sell age-restricted items to your customers.
You can decide which departments, categories, or specific items should ask for age verification at checkout. CAP Retail knows to only ask once per invoice, even when multiple age-restricted items are selected.
To check ID, start your transaction as normal. As soon as the first age-restricted item is added to the transaction, the date of birth prompt will appear.
You will have the option to manually enter the customer’s birth date, or scan the QR code on the back of the customer’s driver's license, if you have upgraded to the age verification scanner.
The software will calculate the age, and either allow the item to be added, or notify the cashier that the customer is under age.
