The Tobacco Scan Data Program includes POS functionality to enable detailed Scan Data Reporting. Functions include basic UPC tracking, Multi-Pack Discounting, and Loyalty Discounts.
Here, Multi-Pack Sale Discounting leverages POS Nation for Retail’s “Mix and Match” pricing.
The first pack of cigarettes rings up at the normal retail price. In this example, a pack of cigarettes is $4.50.
The Multi-Pack Discount takes $.50 off per pack when two packs of cigarettes are purchased. This is setup as a Mix and Match code for cigarettes defined as two packs for $8.00
The Mix and Match Code is applied to all items that fit the Multi-Pack Description. You simply apply the new Mix and Match Code letter or number to any items that qualify for the promotion in your back office Inventory Module.
Once this code is applied to all of the cigarettes, the price will automatically change when the quantity level is achieved.
In this example, the price changes to $4.00 per pack, or $8.00 total, when the second pack is scanned or the quantity is changed to 2 packs.
The discount shows as a line item detail and is viewable in the Discount Report.
The Scan Data program features allow the user to define different Mix and Match names to the different available Multi-Pack promotions being offered and these can be tracked individually.
